Shadows

For my my Shadows series, I worked with soft-toned, watery acrylics applied with sponges as I explored movement, emotion, and the contours of the human body. I became fascinated by the way transparent layers of paint shaped the illusion of depth, how foreground and background interacted within abstract compositions, and by the expressive potential of shadow as a defining visual element.

While working on large canvases, I noticed my own shadow drifting across the surface, creating unexpected shapes influenced by the presence and movement of the human form. Using sweeping strokes, I captured these fleeting silhouettes, transforming them into figurative, abstract paintings filled with fluid energy.

This collection of shadow-inspired works represents some of my earliest paintings created with full artistic intention. Over time, they have gained profound personal meaning and continue to shape my creative evolution.
