(Varon, 2013) This painting takes the viewer through a Coastal Journey. In this symbolic painting, I depict the various cities and towns I’ve called home, each one nestled close to the ocean. Arranged along a sweeping concave curve, these places suggest the circular motion of the Earth, a visual echo of time and movement. The scene unfolds at night along the oceanfront, where the hush of darkness meets the rising sun behind the eastern hills, its light hinting at the sunset far beyond the western horizon, across the sea.
