(Varón, 2018) This piece was inspired by a profound personal experience while in Mexico, where I witnessed my first two shooting stars in a row. In that moment, I felt certain they were manifestations of my parents’ presence in another realm. The soft pink moon symbolizes my daughter, whose spirit is ever-present and guiding. Rays of light entering from either side of the canvas represent pathways to higher dimensions, steps toward spiritual ascension and inner transformation. At the center, a five-sided pyramid emerges from surrounding waters, concealing an underground chamber. This element captures a vision I experienced during a meditation session, a journey through ancient knowledge and ancestral memory. The pyramid also represents my Egyptian heritage a well as the sacred ruins of my home country of Peru and Chichén Itzá in Yucantán, Mexico, where I was staying at the time of this vision. The painting is an invitation to connect with the unseen, to find balance between realms, and to explore the timeless threads that weave our souls together.
